01Who we are

The controller of your personal data is ASOCIATIA JUCATORILOR DE KENDAMA (AJK), CIF 55487800, Str. Constantin Brâncoveanu nr. 7, Buzău, Romania. Contact: office@asociatiakendama.ro, 0750 289 423.

This policy covers the Romania Kendama Open 2026 pages and the event. The general policy of our website is here (in Romanian).

02What data we collect

• Sign-up (when ticket sales open): name, date of birth or age, country and city, email, phone, chosen categories and, for players under 18, the name and contact details of the parent or guardian and their consent.
• Payments: handled by a payment provider. We receive the payment confirmation, amount and order details, never your full card details.
• At the event: check-in, scores and results, photos and video.
• Prize winners: ID and payment details needed to pay the prize and report taxes.
• Messages you send us by email, phone or social media.

Browsing these pages does not require any personal data and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your language choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (rko-lang), only on your device.

03Why we use it and on what legal basis

We do not sell or rent your data and we do not use it for automated decisions or profiling.

04Who we share it with

• The payment provider and our bank, for payments and refunds.
• Our IT providers: Cloudflare (website hosting) and our email provider.
• Judges and volunteers, only what they need to run the contest.
• The authorities, when the law requires it (for example the tax authority for prize payments).

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; in that case they use safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as standard contractual clauses.

05Third-party services on these pages

• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
• The travel map uses Leaflet (loaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com) and map tiles from OpenStreetMap.
• Links to booking sites, Google Maps, Google Flights, Skyscanner and social networks take you to services with their own privacy policies.

When a page loads, these services can receive your IP address and technical details about your browser.

06How long we keep it

• Sign-up and contest data: up to 3 years after the event, then deleted. Results (name, category, place) can stay published.
• Accounting and payment records: as long as Romanian law requires (usually 5 to 10 years).
• Photos and videos: as long as they stay published, unless you withdraw your consent.
• Messages: as long as needed to answer, and no longer than 3 years.

07Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to office@asociatiakendama.ro; we answer within one month.

You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro), or to the authority in your country.

08Children

For players under 16, sign-up must be done by a parent or legal guardian. We collect only the data needed to run the contest and keep children safe at the venue.

09Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when ticket sales and online payments start, and whenever the way we use data changes. The date at the bottom shows the latest version.
